Calgary Police Identify Victim in Northeast Shooting as Harjas Ahluwalia, 25

Calgary police have named the victim of a weekend shooting in the city’s northeast as 25-year-old Harjas Ahluwalia, a man of Punjabi origin. The identification came after an autopsy conducted on September 1 by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, and the manner of death has been ruled a homicide.

Ahluwalia was found dead in the 1100 block of Cornerstone Boulevard in northeast Calgary. Police have said they believe the incident was a targeted case. Investigators describe the shooting as appearing targeted, and no arrests have been made so far as the investigation continues. Officers are still searching for suspects. Police have appealed to the public for any information that could assist the investigation.
